Two more for category A

Here are the finished versions of my two most recent paintings, previously posted in unfinished form. The first is about 18x24”, the second is about 8x9”. Both are oil on panel. I invite comments.

  1. If Van Gogh and Cezanne had a painting party hosted by Matisse and Gauguin at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, these painting might have resulted. Very nice work, mon ami. I would put each piece in Category "A" for "A nice work of art," or perhaps in Category "B" for "Beautiful artwork," or even the rarely-used category "X" for "Xylemic artworks of note."

  2. Thanks, I guess.

The night before last I dreamed you had moved back to Louisville. You came by to see me at work, and it seemed like you wanted a job here. I was trying to warn you off of it.

  3. Mark,

I downloaded the two versions of each of your latest paintings so I could compare before and after. Very interesting to see the changes you made. Maybe you could take pictures of your next work in progress at various stages so that we could see how the artist proceeds in his artistry.

I read an article not long ago about people who make YouTube videos by splicing together photographs of their own faces taken once a day for a year, so that you can see them slowly aging/improving. Maybe you could do something like that with a painting in progress. Just a thought.

As for your dream about me showing up at your workplace: there goes my Job Search Plan A, I guess.

On to Plan B: Fry cook at Burger Queen.
